LOWELL, Vt. (WCAX) - A Milton man has been charged with DUI after driving his car into the Missisquoi River.
State police say 37-year-old Daniel Gilbert was driving north on VT Route 100 in the town of Lowell when he went off the roadway and landed in the east branch of the river.
Gilbert was left with minor injuries, and his car was totaled.
He was taken to the hospital, where he met with a trooper who said they noticed signs of impairment.
He was issued a citation to appear in court in December.
