LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — The Arkansas State Fair is welcoming record crowds, and organizers say safety is what makes that possible.

More than 49,000 visitors turned out on opening day, the second-largest crowd in fair history, with not a single incident reported.

“We have something for everyone here at the fair,” said Ashton Pruitt, spokesperson for the Arkansas State Fair. “If you’re a foodie, love rides, or want to see the livestock shows, we’ve got it going on — but safety is our number one priority.”

Over 100 officers from the Arkansas State Police, Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office, and Little Rock Police Department patrol the fairgrounds daily, both in uniform and undercover. Cameras watch every corner, and MEMS EMTs are stationed throughout the property to respond to any emergency withi
