TAYLOR MILL, Ky. (WXIX) - One man is dead after a crash involving a dump truck in Taylor Mill.

The crash happened near the intersection of Taylor Mill Road and Red Bud Avenue around 9:45 a.m. Monday, according to the Kenton County Police.

Officials say 18-year-old Russell Warren was driving a dump truck carrying a load of sand.

Warren partially exited the right side of the road, then overcorrected, veering left of center and hitting a pickup truck traveling in the opposite direction.

66-year-old Jeffrey Smith was driving the pickup truck and was taken to St. Elizabeth Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Warren was also taken to the hospital for minor injuries and has since been released.

The crash is currently under investigation by the Kenton County Police Department STAR Unit.
