FARMINGTON, Conn. (WTNH) -- Farmington Police Department investigators searched a home on Monday where 12-year-old Jaqueline "Mimi" Torres-Garcia lived with her family before she was allegedly killed around a year before her remains were found in New Britain.

Jaqueline's remains were found in a plastic container behind an abandoned building on Clark Street in New Britain last Wednesday by officers responding to a report of suspicious behavior. Jaqueline's mother and aunt, as well as her mother's boyfriend, have all been arrested in connection to her death.

"In 35 years, this is one of the worst cases that we've had," said Farmington Police Chief Paul Melanson.
