OMAHA, Neb. —
Omaha police arrested two men for illegal street racing.
According to police reports, officers responded near 48th and G streets on Sunday for reports of multiple vehicles doing "cookies" in a parking lot.
When an officer approached one of the cars, the driver ignored the officers and drove away.
That driver, identified as 20-year-old Angelo Inserra, led police on a short pursuit before he and his passenger, identified as 19-year-old Joseph McCormick, got out and ran, authorities said. They were arrested near 49th and Capitol streets.
Inserra was booked for flight to avoid arrest, willful reckless driving, driving under suspension and unlawful street racing.
McCormick was booked for obstructing a peace officer.
