In as close of a race as you can have, Jack Reeves of SMEHS (Shawnee Mission) clipped Camron Fields from Washington for the honor of The Sporting News midseason Kansas high school football player of the year.

In the fan-led voting, Reeves received 43.67 percent of the votes cast while Fields ended up with 43.32 percent. Over 32,000 total votes were marked from six different countries. Vote: Who should be The Sporting News Kansas high school player of the year?
