It’s the end of an era for some folks who love their MTV.

Paramount Global recently announced a permanent shutdown of five iconic MTV music channels in the United Kingdom by Dec. 31, 2025.

Those channels include MTV Music, MTV ’80s, MTV ’90s, Club MTV, and MTV Live, which have long served as hubs for music video culture.

The company is expected to close MTV music channels in Australia, Poland, France and Brazil, according to local media in these countries.

But one question remains. Is MTV in the U.S. next in line? So far, there has been no word for the American leg of those channels.
