Officers found a loaded shotgun with the safety off and a defaced serial number after stopping a pickup in Sarnia recently, city police say.

Police spotted a pickup, with licence plates reported stolen, on London Road, west of East Street, about 11:30 p.m. Oct. 8, police said. After stopping the vehicle in a Germain Park parking spot, a search discovered a 12-gauge, pump-action shotgun and 22 shotgun shells.
