A man accused of striking a trooper's cruiser in Miami while intoxicated and with three children in his car was arrested on Monday, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Cesar Penaromero, 35, was charged with driving under the influence, three counts of child abuse, and damage to property.

According to FHP, on Sunday at around 10:42 p.m., a trooper was notified by another trooper that a vehicle had struck her cruiser while she was investigating another crash on eastbound State Road 836 at Northwest 107th Avenue.

An arrest report said that when the trooper arrived at the scene, the other trooper told them that the driver had a beer bottle between his legs.
