CHICAGO, Ill. (WTVO) — A woman who gunned down another motorist whose vehicle broke down on I-94 in Chicago has been arrested by the Illinois State Police.

Authorities said Valencia Carwell, 33, pulled up behind the victim, with who she had a domestic relationship, after the victim's car broke down on the interstate on Monday, October 12th.

After the victim pulled over to the right shoulder, Carwell arrived in a second vehicle and began to fight with the victim. Police said Carwell shot the victim multiple times.

Troopers located Carwell at the scene and arrested her.

The victim suffered serious injuries and was taken to a local hospital.

Carwell has been charged with attempted murder, aggravated battery with a firearm, and aggravated domestic battery.
