MONROE CENTER, Ill. (WTVO) — A 63-year-old man from Ogle County was injured Monday after he was run over by his own truck.

According to the Ogle County Sheriff's Office, deputies were called to the 16000 block of East McNeal Road around 5:18 p.m.

Investigators said Steven Gavic, of Monroe Center, had stalled his 2002 Chevrolet Silverado in the south ditch.

When Gavic attempted to push the truck out of the ditch it "restarted," officials said, and ran him over.

Gavic was taken to OSF Saint Anthony Hospital in Rockford, but is expected to survive.

No citations were issued, police said.
