CLEMSON — Clemson football coach Dabo Swinney said quarterback Cade Klubnik did not practice Oct. 13 after he suffered an ankle sprain against Boston College but expects him to be a full participant in the next two days.
"He's sore but expect him to play (vs. SMU)," Swinney said Oct. 14. "We'll be smart with him, and we got almost a week before game time. ... The main thing is just getting him to make sure he's got the plan down."
Clemosn (3-3, 2-2 ACC) will host SMU (4-2, 2-0) on Oct. 18 (3:30 p.m. ET, ACC Network) at Memorial Stadium. The Tigers' offense has scored 79 total points over the last two weeks after scoring 79 total points over its first four games.
Klubnik's play has been a key reason for Clemson's resurgence, completing 81.5% of his passes for 534 yards, si
