DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – A man is in custody after a police chase ended in a crash in Greene County this Tuesday.

According to Greene County Sheriff’s Office Capt. Jonathan Emery, the pursuit began at approximately 11:30 a.m. Officials attempted to stop the driver because they alleged he was driving a stolen vehicle.

The chase ended with a crash around U.S. 35 and Trebein Road. Officials said the driver ran into the nearby woods. Xenia City Fire did a drone search and K9s looked for the man.

According to Emery, the entire incident took less than an hour, the search included. It finished when the driver was found and taken into custody.

The vehicle was heavily damaged in the crash. Per Emery, the crash investigation was after this time frame and is still active.
