Antonio do Forno is being remembered for his dedication to family and as a pillar of the Portuguese community in Chatham-Kent and friend to newcomers.
A co-founder of the Portuguese Canadian Social Club of Chatham who also went above and beyond to help people who immigrated to Canada from Portugal, do Forno passed away on Sunday at age 90 after a battle with cancer.

Dominic do Forno said his father “was always community-oriented as a young person in Portugal” where he served in the Portuguese Army from 1956 to 1958 and lived during the dictatorship of António de Oliveira Salazar before immigrating to Canada in 1966.
