A man is in custody after he allegedly stole a cell phone.

On May 8, 2025, a detective with the Oxford Police Department spoke with a victim whose phone had been stolen.

The victim also noticed money being taken out of her account. Detectives identified the suspect as 18-year-old Cornelius Humphries from Oxford.

He was arrested and charged with False Pretense. Humphries was taken before a Municipal Court judge for his initial bond hearing.
