WASHINGTON — Instagram is adding some new restrictions to teen accounts as the social media app tightens safety guidelines for younger users.
Teen accounts on the platform will soon display content for underage users that aligns with the PG-13 rating for movies. The new guidelines will start rolling out automatically on Tuesday and will be fully implemented by the end of the year, Meta said in a press release. Meta touts this change as the "most significant" update to the teen accounts since they were introduced in 2024.
