ATTLEBORO, Mass. (WPRI) — The driver who nearly slammed into a Dunkin' in Attleboro last week has received a citation, according to authorities.
Attleboro Police Deputy Chief Timothy Cook confirmed the driver, identified as a 69-year-old Taunton man, was cited for negligent operation of a motor vehicle.
Cook said the Attleboro Police Department also submitted an immediate threat application to the Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles following the crash.
Surveillance footage from outside the Dunkin' on Pleasant Street shows the man's car hitting a curb before flying through a row of bushes and into the parking lot Thursday afternoon.
The curb right in front of the Dunkin' brought the vehicle to a stop and prevented it from slamming into the business, according to Attleboro Fire Lt.
