A Thanksgiving weekend enforcement blitz took to the streets of Chatham-Kent this past weekend.

The Operation Impact campaign is designed to remind people that an essential part of law enforcement is saving lives and reducing injuries on roadways.

Police officers focused on impaired driving, seatbelt use and aggressive and distracted driving.

“This initiative was strategically scheduled over the Thanksgiving weekend, at a time when more people travel and traffic collisions are more frequent,” Chatham-Kent police said in a release Tuesday.
