Weather conditions briefly put a halt to planes departing from Boston Logan International Airport on Tuesday evening.

The Federal Aviation Administration issued a ground stop for Boston Logan from 5 p.m. through 6:15 p.m. Tuesday, citing low ceilings — clouds that are low to the ground. The ground stop wasn't expected to continue later than 6:15 p.m. — in fact, it ended before then.

There were already hourslong delays at the airport because of low ceilings. The forecast called for cloudy, raw weather in Boston Wednesday afternoon and evening.
