QUEENS, NY (WKBN) - Pat Ragazzo of Sports Illustrated is reporting that Kai Correa is leaving the Guardians' coaching staff to become the new bench coach of the New York Mets.

Correa spent the past two seasons in Cleveland, serving as Major League Field Coordinator/Director of defense, baserunning and game strategy.

He served as San Francisco’s interim manager over the final three games of the 2023 season.

Correa previously worked in the Cleveland player development system in both 2018 and 2019.
