MONROE CITY, Mo. (WGEM) - The man who was found dead with a gunshot wound on Sunday morning was identified by police on Tuesday.

Police said the man was identified as Jonathan J. Floyd, 55, of Perry, Missouri.

The Ralls County Sheriff’s Office reported that they were dispatched to a possible shooting at a rural address outside Monroe City early Sunday morning.

Upon arrival, deputies found the body of an adult male with a gunshot wound. RCSO then contacted MSHP’s Division of Drug and Crime Control for assistance, and Troop B criminal investigators arrived on the scene.

On Sunday , MSHP reported that there was an officer-involved shooting in Paris, Sunday evening.
