CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (WV News) — Both men convicted in a 2023 Monongalia County carjacking have now been sentenced to lengthy prison terms.

On Tuesday, Chief U.S. District Judge Thomas S. Kleeh sentenced Garrett DeBerry, 27, of Morgantown, to 13 1/3 years in federal prison for a felony gun charge in connection with the carjacking.

Back in March, Michael Allen McHenry II, 23, of Vienna, Wood County, was sentenced to 12 years and 11 months in federal prison by Kleeh, also for a gun charge. Each defendant received three years supervised release, to begin once their prison terms end.

The carjacking charge was dismissed as part of the plea deals for both men.
