HARRISON COUNTY, Miss. (WLOX) - After multiple shootings across the state, either on campus or connected to football games, the Mississippi High School Activities Association (MHSAA) is suggesting all schools end tailgating at high school games.
“All these events seem to stem from tailgates, so we recommend from advice from our attorney that we stop having tailgates on campus,” said Rickey Neaves, MHSAA Executive Director, in an online video posted Monday.
Picayune High School cancelled all tailgates on district property as of Monday, then announced a clear bag policy for all athletic events the next day.
