MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - The suspect in an unprovoked, deadly attack near Camp Randall will go to trial.
Keith Jones stood mute as he appeared in Dane County court Tuesday . The court entered a plea of not guilty on his behalf, online court records stated.
Jones is accused of first-degree intentional homicide.
On September 20, Jones allegedly attacked Mark Tiggelaar, a former BEST Security employee near Camp Randall Stadium.
A criminal complaint revealed that Jones allegedly swung a hammer at his head. In a brief altercation, Tiggelaar knocked the hammer out of Jones’ hand. According to the complaint, Jones punched Tiggelaar in the head, causing him to fall to the ground. He then allegedly stomped on Tiggelaar’s head seven times while Tiggelaar was unconscious.
