COLUMBIA, Miss. (WDAM) - Administrators with the Columbia School District said policies already in place to maintain safety at all home football games will continue to be followed.

Columbia High School is scheduled to host Tylertown High School at 7 p.m. Friday.

The additional scrutiny comes after two people were shot and killed in Heidelberg Oct. 10 after a homecoming football game.

A third victim died at a local hospital from unspecified injuries received in the incident

Columbia School District Superintendent Jason Harris said a safety meeting is held every week to prepare for the Wildcats’ home football games.

Harris said up to 20 law officers work every game in Columbia.
