PULASKI, Wis. (WFRV) - The community of Pulaski came together at Memorial Park for a ribbon-cutting ceremony honoring local veterans.

The American Legion Auxiliary unveiled a new granite monument featuring the names of 560 veterans, with space to add nearly 2,000 more.

More than $125,000 was raised by the community to cover the cost of the granite, engraving, and flag poles representing every branch of the military.

“It means a lot to the veterans. It means something that the community appreciated the sacrifice we did,” said John Weister, Pulaski Veterans Committee Chairman. “Me personally, being active for 10 years and then in the reserves, I missed a lot of my family life — my grandfather passing away, my son’s birth, etc. It means something.”
