About 70,000 half-pint units of chocolate milk distributed to schools and other institutions throughout Hawaii have been voluntarily recalled by Meadow Gold Dairy “due to potential quality control issues,” Hawaii Department of Health officials said Tuesday night.

The milk has an Oct. 16 expiration date and was distributed on Sept. 29. It was voluntarily recalled by the company, health officials said in a news release.

They said the recalled product was delivered to schools on Oahu, Maui and Kauai, according to Meadow Gold’s list of establishments that received the recalled product.
