Difficulties attaining home ownership appear to be making people in the London area more receptive to owning pre-fabricated homes, according to a new survey done by Nanos Research for the region’s realtors umbrella group.

According to the poll, 52 per cent of Londoners would feel comfortable living in a factory-built home. That number jumps to 62 per cent among people in St. Thomas, with 12 per cent of people in both cities saying they would feel somewhat comfortable owning this type of property.

Single-family homes remain the most sought-after type of property in the local market, which includes London, Strathroy, St. Thomas and portions of Elgin and Middlesex counties.
