The redevelopment of Mangaluru Junction Railway Station under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme (ABSS) is nearing completion, with the total project cost now revised to ₹15.80 crore—up from the initial estimate of Rs. 10.58 crore, according to the Palakkad Division of Southern Railway.

The station has undergone significant upgrades aimed at enhancing passenger amenities, accessibility, and overall infrastructure. A new entrance arch and a widened approach road—with a footpath, kerb wall, and a minor bridge—have been added to improve connectivity as reported by The Hindu.

The façade of the station building has been modernised using Glass Fibre Reinforced Concrete (GFRC) panels and sunshade elevations. A new porch has also been constructed at the terminal build
