QUINCY (WGEM) - The Adams County Bicentennial Commission (ACBC) unveiled a new monument to presidential visits Tuesday morning.
The monument, located at the southwest corner of Washington Park in Quincy, includes a map and brief summaries of the six visits sitting presidents have taken to Quincy. Presidential visitors include Rutherford B. Hayes, William McKinley, Teddy Roosevelt, Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton and Barack Obama.
Other presidents have visited Quincy outside of their term(s) in office.
ACBC Commissioner Charles W. Scholz hopes the monument will educate and inspire visitors of all ages.
