The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has released its second list of 12 candidates for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections. Popular folk singer Maithili Thakur has been given a ticket from Alinagar, while former IPS officer Anand Mishra will contest from Buxar.
Maithili Thakur joined the BJP just a day ago, on October 14. Anand Mishra, who had resigned from his IPS post to contest the Lok Sabha elections, had previously contested as an independent candidate after being denied a BJP ticket. For the upcoming assembly polls, the party has now fielded him.
Earlier, on October 14, BJP had released a list of 71 candidates. With the second list, the party has announced 83 candidates so far. BJP is contesting on 101 seats in total, with 18 seats still pending candidate announcements.
