TOWN OF GREEN BAY - Bay Shore Park could get an upgrade next year to manage crowds in the summer, if the proposed Brown County budget is approved.

About $2.5 million is set aside in Brown County's budget next year to renovate the park's entrance area. Construction will start in the late summer or fall of 2026, said Matt Kriese, county parks director.

Similar to state or national parks, Bay Shore Park will add a welcome center and ranger station at the entrance to have staff on-site to direct traffic and help visitors navigate the park.

"During busy weekends in the summer, there's capacity issues at the park and often times there is conflicts with users when you have that many people here," Kriese said.
