LEDYARD, Conn. (WFSB) - Two cats were found abandoned in a laundry basket on Wednesday afternoon, prompting Ledyard Animal Control to seek information from the public.

The cats were discovered between Conrad Court and the parking lot for the trails sometime between 12:30 and 3 p.m.

Animal control officials said the cats are very friendly but appear scared from their ordeal.

If the cats belong to someone, animal control asked the owner to come to their office to properly sign them over.

Officials said this process will help them gather important information about the cats, including their names and any veterinary care they have received.

“We can get them into our vet and into a new home quicker that way,” animal control officials said.
