A man was critically injured in a crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian in east London on Tuesday night, police said.

Emergency crews responded at about 8:30 p.m. to a report of a vehicle striking a man who was walking a bike across the road near Dundas and Vancouver streets, police said.

The man was taken to hospital with critical injuries, and the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene, police said.

Investigators closed nearby roads for several hours to collect evidence.
