In recent days there have been reports that snow is on the horizon, and now the Met Office has addressed the forecasts.
WXCharts maps suggested temperatures could fall to as low as 0C on October 25, bringing with it snow across Scotland, Wales and the north of England.
It said: "The meteorological charts show that turbulent weather will surge across the nation from approximately midday, delivering torrential downpours and gusts from the south.
"However, by the evening hours around 6 pm, the icy blast will migrate northwards, with Scotland expected to endure the heaviest snowfall."
However, the Met Office disagrees with this forecast, saying there is no "significant" snow on the way.
