WATERLOO, Iowa (KWWL) -- One person is dead and another is hospitalized following an overnight shooting in Waterloo.

It happened Wednesday around 3:45 a.m. at a home along Hammond Ave., between Oleson and Langley Roads.

When police arrived, officers found a man and woman with gunshot wounds. Authorities said both victims were taken to a local hospital, where the man later died of his injuries. Authorities said The woman was in critical condition, authorities confirmed at 9:45 a.m.

Authorities haven't yet released either of the victim's names.

According to police, there is no threat to the public.
