“Almost 10 years ago, we examined the Indian market, as we believed it was a strategic and key market for luxury. Indian consumers are sensitive about craftsmanship and qualitative products and would shop abroad in Dubai, Singapore, London and Paris. There were no department stores, and we felt there was a real opportunity,” Arthur Lemoine, Chief Executive Officer of Galeries Lafayette, told businessline .
