FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A beloved Christmas tradition in Fresno, Christmas Tree Lane, is set to open for the 103rd year.
Fig Garden says Christmas Tree Lane will start on Wednesday, December 3, and will run through Christmas night on the 25th.
Christmas Tree Lane began in 1920 with a single tree that was decorated to honor a child who had passed away, according to the Fig Garden Homeowners Association.
Visitors can drive the 2-mile stretch from Shields to Shaw avenues. They also said they will suspend Walk-Only Nights this year.
“The popularity and growth of these two Walk Nights has taken on a life of its own and has made it nearly impossible for our small group to put on the event in a way that ensures the safety of the 35,000 people who attend, as well as of our neighborhood. S
