EXETER, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - A 15-year-old was arrested after he allegedly threatened a school shooting in Tulare County on Wednesday that he said was "intended as a joke," police said.

On Oct. 15 at around 9:20 p.m., the Exeter Police Department was alerted to threats of a potential school shooting that was posted on a social media platform. The threats were directed towards Exeter High School.

After an investigation, detectives identified a 15-year-old student as the source of the threats. Officers went to the teen's home, where police said he admitted to making the threats but claimed they were "intended as a joke."
