An Edinburgh prisoner who abused his own niece has died behind bars.
Andrew Temple, 60, was jailed for eight years in 2019 for historic crimes. He passed away in HMP Edinburgh on Saturday, October 11, at the age of 60.
Temple repeatedly raped his niece and molested her in a hospital bed, reports the Daily Record . Temple was convicted of seven offences at the High Court in Edinburgh, two of rape and three of indecent behaviour, and a further two indecency offences against boys.
The offences happened at addresses in Easthouses and Dalkeith in Midlothian, and in Fort William between 1996 and 2004. His niece told how Temple first raped her when she was just eight years old.
