PIKEVILLE, Ky. (WYMT) -A hiring event later in the month is bringing a global company to the mountains, offering jobs in the nuclear energy field.

Shaping Our Appalachian Region (SOAR) is partnering with Framatome for its second hiring event in Eastern Kentucky, inviting skilled applicants to transition into three different sectors of nuclear energy.

The company is seeking mechanically-minded folks of all experience levels, from electrical engineering to welding and HVAC.

The company trains and certifies its employees on site, though, so organizers say experience is not a requirement to apply.
