TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) - The eastside of Tucson will see a new Pima Animal Care Center thanks to funding from PACC's nonprofit partner, Friends of Pima Animal Care Center.

During a meeting on Oct. 14, the Pima County Board of Supervisors voted 5-0 to accept up to $1 million of funding from Friends of PACC to get the facility ready to go.

According to a news release, the location will be announced when the lease is finalized, and the county is looking towards leading a building near Broadway Boulevard and Kolb Road.

The new facility aims to ease overcrowding at PACC's main location, 4000 N. Silverbell Road, which is currently housing nearly double its capacity of 300 dogs.
