TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) - The Tucson Police Department has received four grants from the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety, aimed at reducing traffic fatalities and unsafe driving behaviors.
According to a news release, the funding will be used by the end of 2025 through September 2026.
The DUI Enforcement Grant of $60,000 will support additional personnel to enhance DUI enforcement, especially during holidays and weekends. The goal of the deployments is to increase the awareness of how driving impaired is dangerous and to investigate DUI offences to decrease the amount of impaired drivers.
