TOLLESON, AZ (AZFamily) — Troopers have released more details on a rollover crash that left a woman dead in the West Valley earlier this week.

Just before 5 a.m. on Monday, the Department of Public Safety says a Jeep SUV crashed in the westbound lanes of I-10 at the 83rd Avenue off-ramp. According to troopers, the SUV veered into the gore area of the off-ramp, hit a traffic sign and rolled over on its roof.

The driver, identified as 42-year-old Melody Ann Witherspoon of Avondale, was ejected from the vehicle. Witherspoon was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency crews.

Authorities are continuing to investigate what led to the deadly collision.
