COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - Authorities said a man is dead after a shooting early Wednesday morning in Columbia.

The Columbia Police Department said officers were called to the Columbia Garden Apartments off Plowden Road at around 1:30 a.m. CPD said an unresponsive gunshot victim was found outside the apartment complex.

The department said the victim, later identified as 29-year-old Devonte Redmond, died as a result of his injuries.

No further details were immediately available. CPD said it is working to determine a motive and identify anyone who may have been involved.
