Toyota Alabama announced on Wednesday that 350 jobs would soon be coming to the Huntsville area as the result of new production lines created for the brand’s trucks.

The manufacturer has started assembly of three new differentials for Toyota’s Tacoma, Tundra, and Sequoia trucks, according to a recent release.

A differential enables the wheels on the same axle to rotate at varying speeds.

This helps ensure smooth, safer handling by allowing the outer wheel to travel a longer distance than the inner wheel when navigating a turn, according to the company.

“These new product lines highlight Toyota Alabama’s flexibility and reinforce the company’s commitment to our team and the Huntsville community,” Marc Perry, Toyota Alabama president, said in the release.
