The jury deliberating the fate of Robert Belbin has asked for a refresher on some of the evidence presented during the murder trial.

The 12 men and women began their deliberations just after 5:00 p.m. yesterday, continuing until 8 p.m. before retiring for the night.

They resumed this morning before sending a list of five requests to the judge, mostly to re-watch video of Belbin’s movements in the minutes after he stabbed his friend, Seamus Secord, to death.

No one disputes that happened, with the key question remaining whether it was intentional or self defence to “save his own life.”

The jury, sequestered since they began deliberating, also asked to re-hear evidence of a witness to the tragic events of that cold and grey winter’s day in February 2023.
