LEWISTON, Idaho -- An 11-year-old boy is in the hospital having been hit by a truck while riding a bike Wednesday morning.

According to Lewiston police, the child was riding his bike in a crosswalk at 21st Street and 11th Avenue around 7:45 a.m.

Police say a 21-year-old man in a Ford F-150 was turning right on a green light when he hit the boy. The driver stayed at the scene and is not suspected of being under the influence.

The boy was taken to an area hospital before being life-flighted to Spokane with life-threatening injuries.

The incident is under investigation, and any witnesses are asked to call Lewiston police.
