A supply teacher has claimed he got the boot after being "snitched on" for putting up flags around his hometown. ‌

Shaun Remmer said he was enjoying his dream job as a teaching assistant at Welburn Hall School in York before getting the axe. ‌

The dad-of-one put up a total of 150 flags - including British Union Jacks - around Thirsk in North Yorkshire where he lives. ‌

Shaun, 49, said many locals welcomed his "decorations" with neighbours thanking him and shaking his hand.
