A dad claims he was sacked from his dream job after being "snitched on" for putting up flags around his hometown. ‌

Shaun Remmer, 49, had been displaying a variety of flags , including the Union Jack, around the town of Thirsk, North Yorkshire, in what he described as a "symbol" of the country's "unity". ‌

He said he had put up 150 flags. However, not everybody was fond of the gesture, and somebody informed his employer . ‌

He was contacted by Welburn Hall School in York, where he worked as a teaching assistant, and was asked not to return to his post, Yorkshire Live reports .
